Django People
By Rosie Sherry • Jan 23rd, 2008 • Category: CommunityBrighton residents, Simon Willison and Natalie Downe have launched Django People - a community for people who work with the the Django Web Framework.
The site launched around 24 hours ago and has already had an impressive 747 people signed up. The idea is to encourage Django developers to create a profile and stamp their location. Whilst it is a relatively simple idea with limited functionality (for the time being), having access to the information can lead to other things, such as local meet-ups or job/project opportunities.

I’m darn impressed by Simon+Nat’s effort, the site is lovely. As a TurboGears user (TG being the ‘other’ Python web framework, along with ‘the several other’ Python web frameworks) I’m just jealous.
I wish our camp had something like this too!
