Now you can let your mobile phone be your tour guide with Simon Willison’s new application, Wikinear.

 

A mash-up of several other applications (OAuth, Fire Eagle, GeoNames and the new Google Static Maps API), Wikinear utilises your phone’s GPS system to bring you the five Wikipedia articles closest to your geographic location.

 

Never again will you walk right past a place of interest!
